Teams of 3-6 members must cut down a play into only 5-8 minutes without altering the author’s intent or wording. With only 4 chairs, no props, and no costumes, performers are judged on their creativity, efficiency, and acting capabilities.
Dreams and Prophecies Category: Macbeth
In the 2023 Varsity Spring Shakespeare DTASC, I played Lady Macbeth. I cast, cut, blocked, and acted in the scene. We received honorable mention in the finals.
Oedipus The King
In the 2022 Varsity Fall DTASC, I played Jocasta. I contributed to blocking decisions as well as characterization. We received honorable mention in the finals.
King Lear
In the 2022 Varsity Spring Shakespeare DTASC, I played Regan. This was my first in person Spring Shakespeare DTASC. Through my directors, I learned the process of creating a DTASC scene, and discovered the importance of team work and listening. Our scene was a trophy winner, receiving 4th place.
Angels In America by Tony Kushner
In the 2023 Varsity Fall DTASC, I played Harper Pitt. I watched and read the entire 7 hour play to ensure accuracy. I casted, directed, blocked, and acted in the scene. We were a trophy winner, receiving 5th place out of 40 schools.
Long Day’s Journey into Night by Eugene O’Neill
In the 2023 Junior Varsity Fall DTASC, I casted, directed, and blocked the freshman in my Theater Directing class. It was a wonderful experience, and I was grateful I got introduce my kids to the DTASC process. It was a full circle moment: I got to to inspire the freshman the way my senior directors inspired me. We were a trophy winner, receiving 2nd place.
